Lieutenant Colonel William Lewis

Commander

Lieutenant Colonel Lewis is Professor of Aerospace Studies and Commander, AFROTC Detachment 930 at Marquette University. He is responsible for 4 active duty personnel and 1 Marquette employee and oversees all facets of recruiting, training, motivating and education about 70 Air Force Officer Candidate per year.

Lt Col Lewis entered the Air Force in 1998 through Reserve Officer Training Corps program at South Dakota State University in Brookings, S.D. After receiving his commission Lt Col Lewis served as an electronic warfare officer on the RC-135 V/W RIVET JOINT. He has over 2,000 hours supporting various major operations including Operation ENDURING FREEDOM and IRAQI FREEDOM as well as conducting world-wide Sensitive Reconnaissance Operations.

In previous assignments, Lt Col Lewis has served as an Air Staff Program Element Monitor for JSTARS and AWACS, the Air Force Deputy Chair for Chief of Flag Officer Education at the Curtis E. LeMay Center, Maxwell AFB, AL.
